Control - Shake It Loose

We love to have control in our relationships. Whether we do that by being a victim or by being a victimizer we play out our roles well. When we control our relationships we are essentially killing all that is free, spontaneous and nourishing by demanding that the relationship follows certain prescribed routes. Our behaviour becomes rigidified and we lose the sparkle that relationships kindle.

It is at these times that I recommend all body shaking. Put on some music and begin to shake your body from top to bottom. REALLY SHAKE! Do this for a couple of minutes and make sure you include all body parts. Shaking the body allows the blood to flow and once the blood is flowing a sense of calm and equilibrium follows. This in turn energizes a deep sense of self - a self capable of discerning new ways of being in any old rut situation or behavoiur.
