Play

I love to play, to laugh and be silly. This way of being allows me to release the tension of deadlines, responsibilites, competition and even the monotony of routine. Is there something that you used to love to do as a child that delighted you? What can you do today to bring out the child in you? Will it be a game of hide and seek? Or perhaps a game of Snap or even a food fight with your family or friends? Once you start thinking of play the possibilites are endless! Let's play!!!! Yeah!!

Name

Say your name out loud to yourself several times in different tones, inflection and emotional energy. How would you like your name to be spoken? Softly? Lovingly? Every day speak your name fearlessly, consciously, joyfully.

Ugly Movement

Sometimes when things are really rough and I am feeling extremely stuck, when breathing or a sitting meditation are not doing it for me I do "ugly movements" . It sounds like a strange thing but it is an honest form of self expression for me. Let me explain it this way: in order to shake off the inertia, negativity or anxiety I need to move, and the movement is not a dance or a workout at the gym. No, it is infact letting my body move however it wants to move - it doesn't have to be dance moves or even rythmic movements. Often times it is quite discordant and ugly! Somehow doing this frees me from that inertia or anxiety or judgement. You can use music to inspire you if you like.
